4 February - International Cancer Day

World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic.

This is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.

What can you do... ?

World Cancer Day Theme: "We Can, I Can"

On 4 February 2021, CATHCA, for the first time joined other institutions and organizations in commemorating World Cancer Day (WCD). The commemoration by CATHCA will be done through its network of members in three provinces namely Sukumawenze Place of Care in KwaZulu Natal, Siphesihle Home Based Care in Gauteng and Vezokuhle Home Based Care in Mpumalanga.

This will be done by raising awareness of cancer using IEC materials for distribution and reference. The materials will be distributed in Shopping Malls/ Shops and Taxi ranks.
