Empowering Faith-Based and Community-Rooted Organisations for Primary Health Care

We believe that lasting health equity begins with strong, rooted organisations working closest to the people.

Through our dynamic hub-and-spoke model, we empower a network of faith-based and community-linked organisations—our “spokes”—with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to provide quality, people-centred primary health services. As the “hub,” CATHCA strengthens these partners through technical training, cross-learning platforms, and tailored mentorship that builds both health and management capacity—unlocking meaningful, sustainable impact where it matters most.

We also help our members forge stronger collaborative ties with clinics, health authorities, NGOs, and community leaders. Together, they lead grassroots health initiatives, sit on clinic committees, and shape local advocacy platforms—ensuring that community voices are heard and included in health system decisions. Our growing knowledge management system fuels this momentum, offering timely, practical resources to keep members informed and inspired.

This work is made possible thanks to the generous support of partners such as Misereor, BEGECA, Catholic Relief Services, and SACBC.

With local wisdom and values-driven coordination working hand-in-hand, we are reimagining primary health care—community by community.
