The Catholic Health Care Association of Southern Africa (CATHCA) is proud to launch its new Strategy for 2026–2030: Guided by Faith, Committed to Health Care. Developed through an inclusive, reflective process, this strategy sets a bold course for strengthening compassionate, community-rooted health care across Southern Africa.
Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, our vision is clear — a world where no one is left behind in accessing quality health care. The strategy outlines four key priorities: strengthening financial resilience, empowering member organisations through capacity development, expanding strategic partnerships, and reinforcing CATHCA’s identity as a trusted faith-based health care network.
At the heart of this mission is a commitment to serve the marginalised — ensuring that no person is denied care because of poverty, location, or social status. CATHCA’s hub-and-spoke model empowers over 200 community-based organisations to extend life-saving services to those who would otherwise be excluded. In its vital intermediary role, CATHCA acts as a bridge between local health providers and donors, government, and development partners, strengthening community health systems and amplifying the voices of the underserved.
In an increasingly complex environment, CATHCA remains unwavering in its commitment to healing heart, body, and soul. Together with our members, partners, and donors, we are building a future where dignity, compassion, and justice are at the heart of health care.
