THE PATH TO EXCELLENCE

Hospice Week from 5 to 11 May 2024 is a tribute to the unwavering dedication of palliative care providers and medical professionals. With consistent mentorship and learning, these heroes make a profound difference in the lives of individuals and their families navigating the challenges of life-threatening illnesses.

THE APCC DEFINITION OF PALLIATIVE CARE

Palliative care is the physical, psychological, social and spiritual care provided by an inter-disciplinary team of experts to anyone with a life-threatening illness and their loved ones.

Care is offered from the point of diagnosis and extends to bereavement support if needed. Over 90% of the care that APCC members provide is home-based with a focus on promoting quality of life.
